Skills Matter is dedicated to the training and development needs of people working, or wanting to work, in New Zealand’s mental health and addiction services. The primary function of Skills Matter is to fund education providers to deliver mental health and addiction post-entry clinical training.
What's new
The Ministry of Health has recently confirmed that Te Pou will continue to manage the Skills Matter programme in 2011 and 2012. Skills Matter is dedicated to the training and development needs of people working, or wanting to work, in New Zealand’s mental health and addiction services. All enquiries about Skills Matter can be directed to programme lead Fiona Hamilton.

A new funding model began in the 2010 academic year. This will see Skills Matter supporting a wider range of people, including clinicians in the NGO sector, addiction clinicians and psychologists.
