Clinical psychologists examine and assess people's behavioural and mental health problems.
Assessment involves gathering information about a client, their development stage, situation and context in order to come to an understanding with the client about their situation and distress.
Clinical psychologists may then utilise a range of different treatment strategies, (cognitive behavioural therapy, family therapy) depending on the client's individual needs. This may include psychological testing.
Clinical psychology integrates science, theory, and practice to understand, predict, and alleviate psychological suffering as well as to promote human adaptation, adjustment, and personal development.
